Tort Liability /Insurance Defense
Since we commenced operations in 1994, at least 60 percent of our practice has been in the area of tort liability defense. We represent a broad spectrum of insurers, manufacturing companies, insurance agents and brokers, businesses and individuals in a variety of cases now pending in Alaska state and federal courts.
A portion of our tort liability defense practice involves defending manufactures of a variety of products in complex product liability litigation. Tom Matthews is the author of the only published article on Alaska products liability law.
We have also represented a variety of land owners and property owners in general insurance and tort defense cases. These cases range from "slip-and-fall" to more complex cases involving work-site injuries and wrongful death claims. We also handle numerous automobile cases. And we represent insurance agents, brokers and other professionals in professional liability actions.
